Hands-On Dental Course | Level 3

Course description

Orthotic adjustment is not a procedure that can be learned from a lecture or video alone.

It requires repetition, feedback, and correction in the moment.

Before Level 3, each participant’s orthotic is designed and fabricated from records submitted during Level 2. This allows the course to begin directly with appliance inspection and adjustment.

Participants first observe the complete sequence before beginning the practical rotations.

The hands-on workflow covers seating, insertion, retention, static contacts, right and left lateral movements, protrusive guidance, reassessment, and refinement.

Day two introduces TScan sensor handling and interpretation. Participants use the data alongside clinical assessment to evaluate force distribution and timing.

Each dentist leaves with the orthotic they adjusted during the course.

Learning objectives

By the end of Level 3, participants will be able to:

• Perform the complete orthotic adjustment sequence in the correct order

• Select appropriate burs, instruments, and marking media

• Verify seating, insertion path, and retention

• Establish balanced static contacts

• Develop right lateral, left lateral, and protrusive guidance

• Reassess after each meaningful adjustment

• Handle a TScan sensor and acquire usable data

• Interpret basic force-distribution and timing information

• Recognize common TScan misinterpretations

• Refine an appliance using clinical and digital verification

• Recognize when to stop adjusting and reappoint

• Document each adjustment and its result

• Plan follow-up appointments at one week, one month, and three months
