Hands-On Dental Course | Level 1
Screen, Examine & Diagnose
Learn how to recognize TMD-related findings, complete a structured examination, collect meaningful records, and communicate clearly with patients.
Course description
Many patients with TMD-related signs first present in general dental practice for another reason, such as a broken tooth, crown, orthodontic consultation, tooth wear, or unexplained discomfort.
Level 1 teaches dentists how to recognize those findings and follow a consistent clinical process.
Participants practise a concise screening that can be incorporated into routine appointments, followed by a comprehensive examination that includes patient history, range of motion, joint sounds, muscle palpation, and dental findings.
The course also addresses diagnostic photography, digital records, imaging, red flags, referral pathways, documentation, informed consent, and case selection.
A dedicated communication exercise helps participants explain unexpected findings in clear, patient-friendly language.
No appliance is delivered at this level. Level 1 establishes the diagnostic foundation for the courses that follow.
